Portraits

This series is a psychological study of the human face under emotional tension. Each portrait focuses on the moment when inner states surface — when vulnerability, resistance, fatigue or determination become visible.

The figures, whether anonymous or publicly known, are not presented as social roles but as individuals confronting their own intensity.

Color and anatomy are used not to describe appearance, but to reveal what cannot be spoken.

2025 - Determination - 46 x 55 cm - Oil on Canvas Lin - Ewa Hewelt.jpg

Determination

2025 · 45 × 55 cm, oil on canvas €1500 Nothing is settled yet — everything remains possible. A threshold moment in which pressure does not paralyze, but activates an inner strength — and the decision not to give up changes everything.

Karme Adéu

2024 · 116 × 89 cm, acrylic on canvas €1800 “Karme Farewell” is a deeply personal tribute painted in memory of a beloved friend. The portrait, glowing in vivid tones of blue, red, and green, emerges from the darkness with haunting presence. Her gaze carries both fragility and strength, while a red handprint marks a final goodbye — a symbol of love, remembrance, and the hope of reunion in another life. This large-scale acrylic painting speaks to grief, connection, and the enduring power of memory.

Calitek

2021 · 60 × 60 cm, acrylic on canvas board “Calitek” is an intimate and emotional acrylic portrait that captures the vulnerability of a figure pressed against a wall of blue. Painted in warm tones of red, gold, and orange, the face reveals both fragility and strength, caught between shadow and light. The work reflects themes of inner conflict, silence, and the quiet endurance of the human spirit.

Lydia

2025 · 40 × 30 cm, oil on canvas €680 Lydia is not just a subject — she is a life lived in quiet devotion. A woman who spent her days caring for others: raising children that were not her own, tending homes that were not hers. She was one of the women who raised my partner, in the absence of his mother — a steady, nurturing presence. Her gaze, captured here in deep blue tones, holds both resilience and resignation. It speaks of dignity in hardship, of love given freely, and of endurance without recognition. Lydia lives today in Peru, in a tiny room shared with her pregnant daughter — a bed for two, one closet, and holes in the floor. Still, she endures. Still, she gives. This painting is a tribute — to her, and to the many women like her.

November 2021

2021 · 60 × 60 cm, acrylic on canvas board A bold work of psychological expressionism, November explores feminine power in the face of uncertainty and emotional weather.

Ewa - looking after her children

2021 · 60 × 60 cm, acrylic on canvas board “Ewa” is a vibrant acrylic portrait inspired by the phenomenon of social media connection and influence. The painting reflects on the role of public figures, such as the renowned Polish fitness trainer Ewa Chodakowska, who maintains an intimate relationship with her audience, often calling them her “children.” Through fiery tones and expressive brushwork, the artwork captures the paradox of closeness and distance in the digital age — where authenticity, admiration, and vulnerability meet.

Burden

2024 · 60 × 60 cm, acrylic on canvas board This portrait emerged from a long process of observation, questioning, and emotional study. What drew me in was the fleeting expression — a blend of vulnerability, restraint, and inner tension. The cool, monochromatic palette amplifies the sense of distance and pressure carried quietly below the surface. While painting, the face stopped belonging to a specific person and became a symbol of anyone who carries responsibility, expectation, or the weight of being watched by the world.
